The Process

The creation of the drum is very personal. Your individual creation process is divided into three parts:

1. Quest

Something unique is being created in a completely organic and flowing journey: The mystical bond with your drum starts by exchanging questions to get a feeling for the right ingredients for your instrument.

2. Creation

Your drum will be created in unity with the moon cycle. Together we open a circle and invite the ones to support the creation process of your drum.

3. Initiation

With the Initiation, you bring the instrument into your world, bind it to yourself and set its intentions. It is this power of ceremony for honouring and working with the cycles of nature, with the cycles in your own life.

The Material

Working with natural materials is the foundation for a true connection to our inner nature. The drum revolves around the animal skin. The smudge fan around the feathers. I trade with herders and bird-keepers in different countries, who still work in a traditional way. None of their animals is ever raised for their skin or feathers. Instead their skin and feathers are what remains, after they’ve transitioned. Together we can honor the animal and provide equality around the globe, by supporting the traditional way of life. The wood for the drum frame, provides a strong core for your instruments.

During rituals of nonstop sacred drumming and dancing, the goddess speaks through the drum, inviting energy into the community. Communication with the spirit world was essential for survival. It helped ancient cultures to be in unity with their land. Until today rhythm helps us reclaim unity, the feeling of being one with nature, thus one with ourselves and others. Rhythm is the foundation for a journey between the worlds.

I am Daniel and my roots are in Basarabia – The land of my ancestors with highly fertile ground on the black sea, inhabited for over 8000 years. A land of rolling hills and vast steppes where wolves haul and hawks soar through the skies. A land that gave rise to hunter-gatherer tribes who were in unity with their land. I draw my inspiration from this land and connect to my roots throughout the creation-process of each drum.
